A Split Britches greatest hits album for those who remember the 1980’s or a Split Britches primer for those who may have missed it!
Split Britches has been a pioneering force in queer performance and avant-garde theatre. Founding members Lois Weaver, Peggy Shaw, along with Deb Margolin have written and performed in trio, in duet, and solo as well collaborated and performed with other artists.
Retro(per)spective is a medley of some of Split Britches performances that made the politics of gender and sexuality and the humor of human relations assessable to all ages and persuasions for the last 30 years.
Performed by Peggy Shaw and Lois Weaver, Retro(per)spective provides a humorous slant on love, life, work and play and features excerpts from old favorites such as Upwardly Mobile Home, Belle Reprieve, Lesbians Who Kill, Dress Suits to Hire and Anniversary Waltz as well as material from their newer shows, Lost Lounge and Miss America.
