As part of Chelsea Theatre’s, SACRED programme of contemporary performance art, William Mackrell will be screening the video documentation of his recent work, Deux Chevaux. Consisting of two horses attempt to pull a two horse power car, Deux Chevaux was created as a live public event, travelling between cultural venues, site specifically within ‘Albertopolis’ and the surrounding areas of Kensington and Chelsea on the 21st June this year.
Following the screening, there will be a panel discussion with the artist about Deux Chevaux and a selection of his most recent projects.The discussion will be introduced by Acoris Andipa, Director of Andipa Gallery Knightsbridge and will be led by Art Historian and Curator Dr. Jo Melvin. This talk will also consider Deux Chevaux’s situation within the greater conversation of current public art.
