The Mental Retreat

A new comedy play written, performed and produced by JC Kamau.   The play revolves around the personal stories of residents living in a mental retreat filmed for the television show: ‘Omar Goshie Talks’ hosted by presenter Omar Goshie.  The brainchild of Dr Abu Overture, the Mental Retreat provides residents with a ‘healing’ blend of psychotherapy, nutrition and solace.  Through Goshie’s interviews the Retreat’s residents tell us their stories reflecting shades of sadness and humour, to reveal aspects of mental health affecting people from African descent living in Western society. All the characters in this production are performed by JC Kamau.
