September is of course back-to-school time, and this year Chelsea Theatre offers an educational experience like no other. Alternative performance legend David Hoyle takes to the stage for The Prime of Ms David Hoyle, a classroom-themed multimedia extravaganza in which Hoyle’s acerbic and radical wit combines with a deep love of the outsider. He is joined by ‘teaching assistant’ and faded 60’s icon Simone Simone and a changing line-up of emerging young queer performers, as well as a surprise visitor or two. The result is a show in which comedy, music and art combine to provide amusement, provocation and inspiration for dark times. It’s an education!
