Michael’s Fluent Aphasia

3 July 2016

Two days, in 1985 and 2015, hold a single man and the few friends he has chosen to include in his world. Michael becomes Aphasic after a tumour-removal surgery. After the surgery, he is left without the ability to speak or interpret speech, while his only true companion is a terrified girl he met in a pub the night before: Julia. As Michael was bandaged and comforted by Julia in the past, his broken perception of himself is augmented by his psychology student, Lea, in the present. Through laughter and companionship, Lea gives him the bravery to try to repair his estranged marriage to Julia.
