Thy Kingdom Come
You come home late at night. Switch off the alarm system. Just before you go to sleep you leave the front door ajar for the burglar that secretly comes to steal your heart. Today that is me.
Thy Kingdom Come is a private meeting in a mobile cabin. A single spectator (YOU) meets a stranger. In this small room YOU are waiting for the performance to start. One of YOU starts speaking the words the other has always longed to hear. For a short time Thy Kingdom Come creates a world in which a stranger can become a loved one.
Thy Kingdom Come blurs the frontiers between the real world and spectacle. With delicacy, an acute attention to detail, humour and lovely surprises, this show turns your life upside down in a few minutes. Dries Verhoeven proposes an experimental spectacle in which YOU play the main character and are plunged into a new reality.
Since 2002 Dries Verhoeven has been asking himself whether he could create a performance without any actors. By answering this question in a range of projects he has created beautiful, intimate, moving and questioning pieces of theatre. Increasingly renowned across Europe, this is the first time for UK audiences
to experience the vision of this important European theatre-maker.
