Welcome to SACRED: Chelsea Theatre's unique reflection on the people, places and beliefs we treasure. We've asked six major international performers to present their take on relationships, religion, punk, death and shepherd's pie. In the process they will challenge the structures of Dame Theatre herself. Oh yes.

Nothing, except Cliff Richard, lasts forever. Each of these superstar performers has nominated an artist from the next generation who will make a complementary and brand-spankingly new show.

We've divided the season into two. Autumn 2006 is your chance to Get In At The Start with each pair of artists performing in double bills. In 2007 you'll see The Finished Article as each performs solo.

Get In At The Start!
Witness the forming of a performance; see ideas take shape. Some of what you see on these nights may not survive to the end of the season, but you'll be able to say you were there at the start. You'll get two shows for the price of one and you'll have the chance to take part in Q&A sessions with the artists themselves over a reasonably-priced Pinot in the bar.

The Finished Article
This is the stage where they've taken some of your ideas and all of our money and made twelve gorgeous world premieres. We hope.
