Grey Matters: A Play for Six Brains
and
Curricula Vitae
Head of a Woman are pleased to present a Double Bill of their work: Grey Matters: A Play for Six Brains and Curricula Vitae.
Grey Matters: A Play for Six Brains is an exploration of human community. The play straddles the void between how we experience the world individually and with/through other people – families, friends, society and the world at large. It considers the extent to which we truly understand, connect with or empathise with others and how far our perceptions of other people exist merely in our own minds.
Curricula Vitae is an act of considering the fragile and coincidental nature of our sharing time and space. It is an attempt to encapsulate the temporal and geographical scale of six lives onto one stage. Curricula Vitae takes raw data collected by the ensemble and maps it in space; where the audience is invited to join the dots to reveal narratives inside the topography.
Head of a Woman are an international collective of six artists living in London. Originally six directors from six different countries they now make work responding to the unique composition of the ensemble.
We are committed to making work that is honest and relevant to contemporary audiences. We find narratives in words, movement, sounds and images. We make work to exist in the grey area.
With many thanks to the Chelsea Theatre and Central School of Speech and Drama.
